What is the difference between an "Organization" and a "Workspace"?

In the Pennsieve Documentation and the App, it seems that I can belong to multiple Workspaces. However, I also see references in the Workspace to Organizations. For example, the workspace id starts with "n:org:xxx" and the API has multiple endpoints referencing organizations. Are these the same?

Yes, workspaces and organizations are in fact referring to the same thing. When Pennsieve was originally created, we created the notion of organizations on the platform as a way to separate accounts. After a while, we realized that this was causing confusion as users assumed this should reflect their academic institution and we would have multiple groups from a single institution trying to create organizations with the same name.

We decided to rename "organizations" to "workspaces" to make its intend more clear. Although we plan to remove all notions of "organizations" over time, the term "organization" is still used as part of our identifiers, and in the API.
